The video displays the full range of Soul Rebellion activities, as we travel with Nellie to her primary school whose pit toilets were replaced and a new library built, and continues to follow the movement through the delivery of supplies and blocks from Grange Hill to Bethel Town, as well as present still images of the daytime and evening components.
2009 Electronic Press Kit
Soul Rebellion was born as the fulfillment of a set of vows. It began as a concept which hit in a moment of inspiration on a drive up the West End Road of Negril. It further took shape over a dinner table at Thongpang Chang Thai Restaurant, with notes scrawled on a napkin. With the structuring of the team, Soul Rebellion became an application of a different way of doing things. A way to do good by people. This EPK was stitched together from various footage shot throughout the years of 2006 through 2008, and laced to a Rootz Underground track, it was premiered at the Consul General’s Office of Jamaica in New York City in November of 2008. The video closes on a shot of the pit toilets Soul Rebellion was able to replace at St. Paul’s Primary School, located in Little London, as our first application of the Buy-A-Brick program. Narrated by Akelia Lawrence of Jampact.
